When buying food for your bird you need to consider what level of nutrition is required. For example, is your bird active or mainly caged? Is it indoors or outside? Is it moulting? Does it need extra Protein or Calcium. All birds should have fresh fruits and vegetables and fresh water.
Generally most active birds, or birds in outside aviaries will need higher energy levels, birds breeding will need extra Calcium and Protein.
Please research the needs of your bird(s) as much as possible.
Bird Types:
We cannot list all bird types. However Grey Parrot Diets are generally suitable for other African species( Jardines, Capes and Senegals).Amazon diets are suitable for Pionus and Caiques.
We have four different types of seed mixes: these are based on 10 years of research and talking to breeders and pet owners in addition to observing our own birds.
Basic Seed Mixes:
These are as described. Good clean mixes without extra vegetables and fruit.
Premium Mixes:
These mixes have some vegetables and fruits added to increase Vitamin levels.
Complete Mixes:
These mixes have egg foods added: You need to add a very small amount of liquid(water or fruit juice)as the egg food will then attach to the seeds.
Natural Balance Mixes:
These deluxe mixes contain 50% Fruits, Nuts and Vegetables.
